In Loving Memory Of: Tommy Taylor 10/04/1986 - 16/6/2022 36 Years Old In loving memory of the One and Only Tommy Taylor. We will meet here to remember and share our memories of You. Forever in our Hearts - Carpe Diem! Your memorial? Click here to edit... Share this Memorial with Friends & Family: Share Memorial on FB Biography: Tommy is the Life and Soul of any party, full of fun with a lot of Love to share with those he loves. I’m sure he is loving doing everything he enjoys in Heaven, whether it’s snow boarding, skateboarding, dancing - moon walking- drawing, and travelling. I speak in the present because he is still alive in Heaven, we don’t die, we return to our original soul state of consciousness with an energy body rather than physical body, we still exist, not just as a memory but as an energy being. So even though Tommy has transitioned, he can still be with us, Love connects us always. Tommy is artistic, and loves to write poetry and is passionate about health, and keeping fit. Friends remember Tommy walking on his hands, not easy to do if you haven’t tried it - he would walk quite a distance on his hands as seen in the videos. Tommy went to the gym most days. Tommy was challenged by addiction with drugs and alcohol but that didn’t define him in his earthly life, the love, memories and friendships he shared defined him. He was real in his emotions and sensitive in his nature, and related to many people he met, in Sherborne , London and Australia. He is a cheeky chappy, his signature style of dress being a cap or flat cap, white t shirt, jeans and white trainers, and loved wearing an expensive aftershave. He is well respected for his skills as a floor layer of any type, and took a pride in his work. He loves nature and cared so much about social and global issues, and would like to talk about meaningful topics. He inspired friends with his knowledge of nutrition and keeping fit. I’m sure he is guiding and helping us all when we need it, he wasn’t religious but was spiritual, and open minded. Tommy is physically very much missed, although we hold him very much in our hearts. We arranged to have a memorial bench here in Pageant Gardens, and didn’t realise until it was installed, that this was the near exact place where Tommy would meet friends, climb trees, and anything else he chose to climb, so it’s a perfect spot to meet for a coffee and chat, and remember Tommy. Share this Memorial with Friends & Family: Share Memorial on FB Biography: Shane Patrick Lysaght MacGowan (25 December 1957 – 30 November 2023) was an English-born Irish musician, best known as the co-founder, frontman, and chief songwriter of Celtic punk band the Pogues. MacGowan's songs were influenced by Irish history, Irish nationalism, the Irish diaspora, and London life. Born in Kent, England, to Irish parents, MacGowan spent his early childhood in Tipperary, Ireland, before returning to England aged six and a half. Noted for his precocious interest in literature—by age 11, he was reading authors including Fyodor Dostoevsky and James Joyce—he attended Holmewood House preparatory school and won a scholarship to Westminster School, but was expelled from the latter for possession of drugs. In 1977, he joined the punk band the Nipple Erectors. In 1982, he co-founded the Pogues, which fused punk influences with traditional Irish music; he features on the band's first five studio albums, released between 1984 and 1990, including the critically acclaimed and commecially successful If I Should Fall from Grace with God (1988). He co-wrote the Christmas hit single "Fairytale of New York" (1987), which the Pogues recorded with Kirsty MacColl. During a 1991 tour, MacGowan was dismissed from the Pogues due to the impact of his drug and alcohol dependency on the band's live shows. He subsequently formed a new band, Shane MacGowan and The Popes, with which he recorded two studio albums. In 2001, MacGowan rejoined the Pogues for reunion shows, and remained with the group until it dissolved in 2014. He also produced solo material and collaborated with artists such as Joe Strummer, Nick Cave, Steve Earle, Sinéad O'Connor, and Ronnie Drew. He received a 2018 Ivor Novello Inspiration Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award. Following years of deteriorating health, MacGowan died of pneumonia at his Dublin home in November 2023, aged 65.
