Biography:
Joe was a family man, first and foremost.
Throughout his life he was a talented sportsman. He played football at semi-pro level in the 1960s and he never lost his love of the game.
He enjoyed watching all sports including: football, cricket, rugby, darts, snooker and golf. He took to golf later in life and was a member of Queensbury Golf Club.
For work, he was a warehouseman, a landlord, a newsagent... But work always seemed a means to an end for Joe. He worked hard to help provide for his family, whatever that took.
He was a true gentleman. Nobody had a bad word to say about Joe. He always did the right thing, every time. He had a band of close and loyal friends and he enjoyed a pint, a game of snooker or cards and a good night out. His closest friends, Stuart and Les are in our thoughts and they have felt his loss.
He is survived by his loving wife Clare, his daughter Jackie, son Phil and his beloved granddaughters: Stephanie, Heidi and Joanie.
We all miss him terribly.
